After completing his articles at MHA, Godwin was retained as an associate in 2015. He was promoted to the position of senior associate in 2021, and to the position of Director in March 2024.

Godwin’s practice focuses on Competition law (including merger control, investigations and litigation relating to abuse of dominance and other prohibited practices and market inquiries), Energy law (Oil, Gas and Electricity), PPPs, Regulatory, Administrative law, Mining law, Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment, Corporate and Commercial law.

During his time at MHA, he has been involved in a wide array of commercial transactions involving drafting and negotiating contracts, conducting legal due diligence exercises and providing general commercial and legal opinions for clients.
Godwin has acted for major state-owned entities and private clients across a variety of industries.

He obtained his LLB from UNISA in 2012.
